Computational Prediction of species-specific Methylation sites  Last update: Apr, 2016
PSSMe is a tool for identifying species-specific methylation sites based on information gain (IG) feature optimization method. Users can submit one or multiple protein sequences to the system and select which type of models (Methyl-arginine:Human,Mouse, Rat or Combined; Methyllysine:Human, Mouse,The others eukaryotes or Combined) for prediction methylation sites. The system efficiently returns the results, including protein name, the position of site, flanking amino acids and SVM probability. A higher SVM probability indicates a higher probability of the arginine(or lysine) could  occurrence of methylation.To control the false-positive predictions, we suggested users pay more attention to the methylation sites with stringency setting higher than 50%.
